The Wisconsin Badgers had a lot of difficulties against Washington State in Week 2, with the first being the defense. In the entire first half, the Badgers were unable to generate any pressure on the quarterback, or cover any receivers downfield. It was truly more of the same as what we saw in their first-week victory over Buffalo.
The Badgers were able to turn it on in the second half, but thanks to some key mistakes and a few questionable calls, they were unable to complete the comeback. Georgia Southern doesn’t provide much of a “test” for Wisconsin. With that in mind, the Badgers will still be judged harshly after the lofty expectations heading into the season continue to hang over the team’s head.

Although Georgia Southern finds themselves as heavy underdogs in this game, they have impressed so far this season, starting off 2-0. Although they have only matched up against The Citadel and UAB, it’s still impressive to see their offense averaging over 41 points per game. They are led by senior quarterback Davis Brin who recently transferred from Tulsa. Brin is a quarterback who likes to take risks and will throw his fair share of interceptions.
Defensively, the Eagles are nothing special. They only have two sacks to go along with four forced turnovers this season. If they are to have any success against Wisconsin, they need to find a way to generate pressure. If they can do that without sending too much heat, they should be able to plug the running lanes enough to slow down this Badger offense.
