Even with their recent series loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Milwaukee Brewers are still riding high as we get to the middle of April. Before the Brewers can come back home, they have two more tough road tests starting with San Diego. Below, we have Brewers vs Padres predictions for this week’s series, including projected starting pitchers, betting odds, injury report and the NL Central standings.
Milwaukee Brewers News | Brewers vs Padres Series Predictions
The Milwaukee Brewers left for the west coast road trip and left their bats behind. While they put up seven runs in the second game of the series, they combined for just three runs across the other two games. Unfortunately for the Brewers, they may have had a chance to take the series in game three if not for starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff having to hit the injured list with shoulder inflammation. Janson Junk started in his place and struggled mightily.
This Brewers vs Padres series will be a great test for the Brewers. Milwaukee has won 11 of their last 18 against San Diego, however, this Padres team is even more loaded than in years past. If Milwaukee can even split the series against a very talented San Diego team, it will be a win.
San Diego Padres News | Brewers vs Padres Series Predictions
The San Diego Padres have one of the most stacked lineups in recent history, but have struggled early this season. While they have played some solid teams like the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves and the Arizona Diamondbacks, they also dropped two of four in their opening series to the Colorado Rockies.
The biggest problem with San Diego has been their hitting surprisingly enough. The Padres have scored more than five runs just four times in their first 13 games. While the Braves have a solid pitching staff, the Rockies, Diamondbacks, and injury-prone Mets do not. San Diego can get hot on any night, but can also be just as cold.
