The AV is based on performance and accolades during the time they wore this number in Green Bay.

1) Eddie Lacy, RB (2013-16)
NFL Draft: 2013, Round 2, Pick 61 to the Green Bay Packers
Eddie Lacy is the best player to wear the Green Bay Packers’ number 27 jersey. He was an instant spark of offense for a Green Bay team who was in need of a running back in the mid-2010s. Lacy won Offensive Rookie of the Year after recording 1,188 yards on the ground, 11 touchdowns and another 257 yards through the air. Lacy’s rookie season was one for the Packers’ record book, as he set rookie records for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
Eddie Lacy would go on to replicate his rookie season, with 1,139 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. This year though, Lacy added 427 yards and four touchdowns through the air. As injuries and production problems came on, Lacy never got back to what he showed in the first two years of his career. In his next two years in Green Bay, he only accounted for 1,118 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
As quickly as Lacy became a star in Green Bay, it was just as quick to flame out. After four years, Lacy found a new home in Seattle, where he was sparingly used, recording just 179 rushing yards.
2) Terrell Buckley, CB (1992-94)
NFL Draft: 1992, Round 1, Pick 5 to the Green Bay Packers
Terrell Buckley was a two-year starting defensive back at Florida State, as he became the school’s All-Time leading interceptor, with 21 interceptions and 501 return yards. Adding multiple interceptions returned for a touchdown and punts returned for a touchdown, he was named an All-American and showed enough for the Packers to draft him in the first round.
Buckley did not completely live up to the hype in Green Bay, as the team shipped him out after three seasons. While in Green Bay, Buckley did provide some exciting moments, including three interceptions his rookie year, one of which was returned for a touchdown. He added seven more interceptions over the next two years and a fumble recovery. While Buckley never became a lock-down corner, like fellow Florida State alum Deion Sanders, he provided enough exciting moments for Green Bay to find himself on this list.
3) John Symack, S (1957-62)
NFL Draft: 1957, Round 23, Pick 268 to the Green Bay Packers
After being discovered by Packers’ scouting at the University of Florida, John Symack joined Green Bay in the late 1950s as the team was looking to rebuild. The defensive back immediately made an impact in his rookie year, recording nine interceptions. Those nine interceptions are still the second-most in a season in Green Bay history.
Two uneventful years later (with the exception of breaking Johnny Unitas’ ribs on a hit) and Symack was introduced to Vince Lombardi. During the 1960 season, Symack became a force on the team, leading in interception-return yards and kick-off return yards. Symack turned out to be a huge piece to Lombardi’s defense, helping to win back-to-back championships in 1961 and 1962.

Who Wears Packers’ Number 27 in 2023?
Currently, Patrick Taylor sports the number 27. Over the past two seasons, Taylor has been used sparingly as a third-string running back. He has recorded just 33 rushes over that time. Scoring just one career touchdown, Taylor will compete for the RB3 role in 2023.
