It should have been a happy celebration after their victory over Purdue. Instead, it was met with sadness with running back Chez Mellusi fracturing his fibula late in the game. Mellusi will obviously be out for the season, and his college career comes to an unfortunate end.
With the injury, running back Braelon Allen will have an even larger workload in this offense. The Badgers finally made it a point to run the ball early on against Purdue and it worked, scoring a touchdown on each of their first three drives. If they can run effectively again early on, the passing game should have a much easier time moving the ball down the field.

Rutgers may have gotten beat up by the Michigan Wolverines in Week 4, but they have absolutely dominated the rest of their opposition. Although their toughest opponent was probably Northwestern, they have still outscored their opponents 147-33 across their four wins this season.
Part of the reason Rutgers has found success, is because they rarely shoot themselves in the foot. The Scarlet Knights average just 34 penalty yards a game and have only turned the ball over three times this season. If they can take care of the football and keep themselves in manageable situations, they have a shot to rack up another Big Ten win.
