The AV is based on performance and accolades during the time they wore this number in Green Bay.

1) Jim Bidwell, P (2000-03)
NFL Draft: 1999, Round 4, Pick 133 to the Green Bay Packers.
According to Pro Football Reference, the best player to wear the Green Bay Packers’ number 9 jersey is Jim Bidwell. Drafted in the fourth round, there was a lot of pressure for the punter to be good. Bidwell was solid, averaging 41.1 yards per punt and downing them inside the 20-yard line 27.6% of the time.
While Bidwell was named to a Pro Bowl, that didn’t come until after he was with Green Bay.
2) Christian Watson, WR (2022-Present)
NFL Draft: 2022, Round 2, Pick 34 to the Green Bay Packers
There is a lot of pressure on Christian Watson to be an excellent wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers. Through one season, there have been mixed results. Clearly, Watson possesses incredible physical gifts. However, as a wide receiver, he is still raw and not technically sound at all.
As a rookie, Watson totaled 41 receptions for 611 yards and seven touchdowns.
3) Jon Ryan, P (2006-07)
NFL Draft: Undrafted in 2004
Jon Ryan began and ended his professional football career in the CFL. However, after a couple of years up north, the Packers signed Ryan to be their starting punter. He played very well, averaging 44.5 yards per punt and downing them inside the 20-yard line 24.3% of the time.

Who Wears Packers’ Number 9 in 2023?
Currently, Christian Watson wears the Green Bay Packers’ number 9 jersey. Obviously, he ranks second on the list above, and it won’t take much for him to take the top overall spot. Year 2 could be a defining year for the wide receiver out of NDSU. We will see how much he has improved in the offseason.
