Best Players to Wear Green Bay Packers Number 81

1) Rich McGeorge, TE (1970-78)

NFL Draft: 1970, Round 1, Pick 16 to the Green Bay Packers

Rich McGeorge is the best player to wear the Green Bay Packers’ number 81. No, there isn’t much competition.

McGeorge played during the “dark ages” for the Packers. He played all nine of his NFL seasons in Green Bay, totaling 175 receptions for 2,370 yards and 13 touchdowns.

2) Perry Kemp, WR (1988-91)

NFL Draft: Undrafted in 1984

After going undrafted in 1984, Perry Kemp began his career in the USFL. He then was on the Dallas Cowboys for a year, despite not playing, before playing for the Cleveland Browns for a year.

Kemp then found a role with the Green Bay Packers, playing his final four NFL seasons there. He totaled 182 receptions for 2,341 yards and six touchdowns.

3) Marv Fleming, TE (1963-69)

NFL Draft: 1963, Round 11, Pick 154 to the Green Bay Packers

While Marv Fleming is not one of the names you think about when considering NFL greats, he had a highly-productive career. After getting drafted by Green Bay in the 11th round, Fleming played seven of his 12 seasons as a Packer. He totaled 109 receptions, 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns. More importantly, he won three NFL Championships and two Super Bowls with the Packers.

Following his time in Green Bay, Marv Fleming played five seasons with the Miami Dolphins, winning two more Super Bowls and NFL Championships.

Who Wears Packers’ Number 81 in 2023?

Currently, Josiah Deguara wears the Green Bay Packers’ number 81. Overall, it has been a disappointing career for the tight end to this point, after being yet another bad third-round draft pick for Green Bay. The Packers did seem to find something with using Deguara as a lead blocker last season, but they quickly got rid of that in the offense.

Deguara will be playing for a new contract this season. After Green Bay drafted two tight ends this offseason, it appears Deguara’s next contract won’t be coming from the Packers.
