1) Clay Matthews III, OLB (2009-18)

NFL Draft: 2009, Round 1, Pick 26 to the Green Bay Packers

Clay Matthews is the best player to wear the Green Bay Packers’ number 52 jersey, and he is one of the biggest stars have had on the defensive side of the ball. Drafted in the first round, Matthews played 10 of his 11 NFL seasons in Green Bay. The majority of his 137 starts came at outside linebacker, but he did play a bit inside as well.

Across 10 years, Matthews totaled 83.5 sacks, 15 forced fumbles, six interceptions and three touchdowns. His 83.5 sacks rank as the second-most in franchise history. Matthews also won a Super Bowl and was voted to six Pro Bowls, one First-Team All-Pro and one Second-Team All-Pro.

2) Frank Winters, C (1992-2002)

NFL Draft: 1987, Round 10, Pick 276 to the Cleveland Browns

Frank Winter played five NFL seasons before finding his home in Green Bay. “Bag of Donuts” went on to play 11 seasons for the Packers, making 141 starts in total. He won a Super Bowl with Green Bay and also was voted to a Pro Bowl.

3) George Cumby, LB (1980-85)

NFL Draft: 1980, Round 1, Pick 26 to the Green Bay Packers

George Cumby played his first six NFL seasons in Green Bay. He ended up making 59 starts during these six years, totaling 4.5 sacks and five interceptions. Unfortunately, most of the highlights Cumby was in were when William Perry played lead blocker for Walter Payton, and Cumby was on the wrong end of the play.

Currently, Rashan Gary wears the Green Bay Packers’ number 52 jersey. Gary has been touted by many to be one of the best players on this Green Bat defense.
