In NFL Week 7, the Green Bay Packers were given a perfect opportunity to bounce back after an embarrassing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. With running back Aaron Jones back in the fold offensively, Packers fans hoped to see the offense start to put up some points again against one of the weakest defenses in the NFL. Instead, the offense was putrid, at best, for three quarters under Jordan Love.
With the 19-17 loss in this Packers vs Broncos matchup, the questions surrounding Matt LaFleur and this offense will only amplify. Through six games, Green Bay has scored more than 20 points just twice. While Love is still an inexperienced quarterback, he showed he didn’t learn his lesson from the last game, as his attempt at playing “hero ball” once again sealed the loss for the Packers. With the division rival Minnesota Vikings coming to town next week, the Packers are suddenly in panic mode.

Jordan Love Doesn’t Learn His Lesson
Last time out against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Packers found themselves on the Raiders’ 35-yard line with 44 seconds to go. Love tried to play hero and threw a deep ball into tight coverage, resulting in an interception. The Packers had plenty of time left, but that interception all but sealed their fate.
This week, the Packers had the ball on their own 46 with just under two minutes to go, needing just a field goal to take the lead again. Again, Love tried to force a ball into solid coverage and was intercepted. While mistakes do happen, seeing Love panic and throw crucial interceptions two weeks in a row is not a good look, especially for a quarterback who has had multiple years to get up to speed and learn how to play in the NFL.
While Jordan Love shouldn’t be completely buried for two bad decisions, it’s not encouraging to see the player the Packers invested so much time and capital in, not learning from his mistakes.

Packers’ Defense Does Their Job
Say what you will about defensive coordinator Joe Barry, but once again, this loss is not his fault. For the fourth time in six games, the Packers held their opponent to 20 points or less. For the second week in a row, even that wasn’t good enough.
As much as people love to rag on Denver’s offense, they have been average so far this season, dropping 21 points against a very good New York Jets defense. While the Packers’ defense certainly wasn’t perfect, they held the Broncos to just 339 total yards and won the time-of-possession battle. Even though they weren’t able to generate any turnovers, it’s hard to blame the defense yet again as they put the offense in the position(s) they needed to win.

Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers Preview
The Packers now return to Lambeau Field with a divisional matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams have struggled mightily the past few weeks, and it could very well be another low-scoring affair.
The Minnesota Vikings have struggled to capture the same magic that led to them winning the NFC North last season. Currently, they are struggling mightily with injuries. Superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson and linebacker Marcus Davenport will be sidelined among others for the Vikings. Even with all that going in favor of Green Bay, it’s hard to put any faith in this Packers’ offense whatsoever.
Prediction: Vikings 24, Packers 16
