Hundreds of lifelong dreams of making it to the NFL are achieved every single year during the NFL Draft. For the state of Wisconsin, sports (especially football) are engrained in our culture. The roads are rather empty while the Green Bay Packers are on the field, and many high schoolers around the state have the dream of playing at Lambeau Field someday.
We have seen many great Wisconsin-born players make it to the NFL and play at the highest of levels. However, how many athletes to play in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) have been selected in the NFL Draft?
Below, we will take a look at every WIAC football player to be selected in the NFL Draft. For those who don’t know, here is the list of schools in the WIAC:
- UW-Eau Claire
- UW-La Crosse
- UW-Oshkosh
- UW-Platteville
- UW-River Falls
- UW-Stevens Point
- UW-Stout
- UW-Whitewater
- UW-Superior*
- UW-Milwaukee*
