We’re doing this Green Bay Packers’ number 92 jersey article differently than yesterday’s article or any other one on this countdown. I am not doing this to disrespect the likes of John Jurkovic and Matt Koart, who also wore 92 for the Packers at some point. However, there is only one true answer for the best player to wear this jersey number, and it’s special to me.
1) Reggie White, DE (1993-98)

The best player to ever wear the Green Bay Packers’ number 92 jersey is Reggie White. Growing up, I wanted to play like Reggie White, I wanted to act like Reggie White and I wanted to simply be like Reggie White, because he is the best in essentially every regard. He was a role model on and off the field for many.
After receiving a message from God (Mike Holmgren), White joined the Packers after many successful years in Philadelphia. He was instrumental in bringing the Packers back to the Super Bowl and restoring Green Bay’s respect across the league.
White ended up playing six seasons in the Packers’ number 92 jersey. In these six years, he made six Pro Bowls, won a Defensive Player of the Year award, was voted First-Team All-Pro twice and Second-Team the other four years. He totaled 68.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles and he intercepted a pass. White also totaled three sacks in the Packers’ Super Bowl win.
There is no doubt that Reggie White is the greatest Packers’ 92 ever, and he is among the all-time greats to play in Green Bay.

There are no current Packers to wear number 92. This is because Reggie White’s #92 was retired by the organization. He joins the list of other legendary Green Bay Packers retired numbers.
