Best Players to Wear Green Bay Packers Number 88

1) Ron Kramer, TE (1957, 1959-64)

NFL Draft: 1957, Round 1, Pick 4 to the Green Bay Packers

The fourth overall draft pick in 1957 spent sevens seasons wearing the Green Bay Packers’ number 88. Rob Kramer won two NFL Championships with the Packers before joining the Detroit Lions. He missed the 1958 season due to service in the Air Force.

It seemed to be a good decision for Kramer to turn down the offer to play professional basketball and instead play football for Green Bay. In seven seasons, Kramer totaled 170 receptions for 2,594 yards and 15 touchdowns.

2) Jermichael Finley, TE (2008-13)

NFL Draft: 2008, Round 3, Pick 91 to the Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers haven’t had many great tight ends in its history, and many fans consider Jermichael Finley to be the last true threat the team had at the position.

Finley played seven NFL seasons in the Packers’ number 88 jersey, totaling 223 receptions, 2,785 yards, 20 touchdowns and he won a Super Bowl. Unfortunately, Finley’s NFL career was cut short due to a spinal cord injury that he never bounced back from.

3) Bubba Franks, TE (2000-07)

NFL Draft: 2000, Round 1, Pick 14 to the Green Bay Packers

Surprisingly, Bubba Franks is one of the most recent pass-catchers to be drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round. Franks was popular due to both his name and performance on the field. He spent eight seasons in Green Bay and was voted to a Pro Bowl in three of them.

Franks totaled 256 receptions, 2,300 yards and 32 touchdowns as a member of the Packers.
