Dave Robinson is not only a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, but he is in the NFL Hall of Fame as well. Robinson played 10 of his 12 seasons in the Packers’ number 89 jersey.
In these 10 seasons, Robinson totaled 22 sacks and 21 interceptions. He was a three-time NFL Champion, two-time Super Bowl Champion, two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler. He is truly a legend.
2) James Jones, WR (2007-13, 2015)
NFL Draft: 2007, Round 3, Pick 78 to the Green Bay Packers
Drafted in the third round of the NFL Draft, James Jones developed into a solid wide receiver for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. He became a touchdown-scoring monster, including a year with 14 receiving scores.
Jones played his first seven seasons in the Packers’ number 89 jersey. After one season in Oakland, Jones returned to Green Bay for his final NFL season. In these eight total seasons as a Packers, James Jones totaled 360 receptions, 5,195 receiving yards and 45 receiving touchdowns.
3) Mark Chmura, TE (1993-99)
NFL Draft: 1992, Round 6, Pick 157 to the Green Bay Packers
Big Mark Chmura played all seven of his NFL seasons in Green Bay. The 6-5 “Chewy” became a popular receiving option for Brett Favre during those top years in the ’90s. In his seven seasons, Chmura totaled 188 receptions, 2,253 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Who Wears Packers’ Number 89 in 2023?
Currently, there is no player wearing the Green Bay Packers’ number 89 jersey. It was Marcedes Lewis who wore the number last, and it’s possible Green Bay is keeping the number open in hopes he returns to the team.
