It’s the start of a new era in Green Bay and there is no opponent better to start against than the Chicago Bears. After “owning” the Bears for over two decades, will Chicago be able to turn the tide in the series, or will Jordan Love continue the tradition of Packers quarterbacks owning their franchise? Read on for our Packers vs Bears prediction, NFL odds and a Packers injury report heading into Week 1.
Green Bay Packers News | Packers vs Bears Prediction
We’ve seen a decent amount of good from Jordan Love this preseason, but the regular season is a different animal. With the pressure on Love for the first time in years and the game in hostile territory, it’ll be interesting to see if he can handle it. He already has the deck stacked against him with receiver Christian Watson out for the game with a hamstring injury.
Another question that needs answering is how the defense will bounce back from yet another underwhelming season under defensive coordinator Joe Barry. The calls to fire him after last season were quite loud, and they may become deafening if he can’t stop the Bears’ offense with an even better defense, on paper, this year.
Chicago Bears News | Packers vs Bears Prediction
The Chicago Bears come into this game rejuvenated and ready to go. After another rough season last year, many Chicago fans think this is finally the year they make a breakthrough behind quarterback Justin Fields. Although the Packers’ defense is not the toughest challenge the Bears will face this season, the first step to a breakthrough season is beating up on your rival.
Defensively, the Bears are once again rock solid. Chicago added T.J. Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds to their linebacking corps and has a solid secondary led by Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker and Eddie Jackson. If they can’t stop Jordan Love from driving down the field, they’ll have another long season ahead of them.
