When is Milwaukee Summerfest 2025?
Summerfest in Milwaukee will take place over the course of three weekends starting in June — June 19-20, June 26-28, and July 3-5. Below, we will go over the full lineup for all three weekends. If there is a specific day that interests you most, you can purchase single-day tickets!
What is Summerfest?
Starting in 1968, Summerfest is a summer music festival that is hosted at Henry Maier Festival Park in downtown Milwaukee. It was inspired by then-mayor Henry W. Maier after he attended Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. The music festival was first named the “Milwaukee World Festival.” After a brief change to “Juli Spaß” (German for “July Fun”), we finally found the name “Summerfest.”
The festival has brought in many music legends during its history — Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Metallica, Whitney Houston, Kenny Chesney, Aerosmith, Usher, and many more.
It was named the “World’s Largest Music Festival” in 1999 by Guinness World Records. This year, it will feature 600 artists in nine days. In 2024, the attendance for Summerfest was 555,925.
